In partnership with Eastwood Music Group and FirstCom Music UMPG, the Dallas Mavericks are helping curate a “Soundtrack for Empowerment” with “The Truth to Power Project.” This creative endeavor is a local Dallas-Fort Worth community effort working to inspire people with new music and content – “Let’s bring truth to the light so that we can heal, grow, and prosper together.”
The “Truth to Power” triple LP set features a variety of local artists, including Grammy Award winner Leon Bridges with Keite Young, Bastards of Soul, Sarah Jaffe and Elliott Skinner as well as national artists like Grammy Award nominee Black Pumas, Holy Hive, BADBADNOTGOOD and more. All proceeds from this project will support nonprofit organizations committed to serving communities that have been damaged by inequitable structures, including Music Forward, For Oak Cliff, Joppy Momma’s Farm and Young Leaders Strong City.
The program is part of the Mavs Take ACTION! plan to support local minority-owned businesses. The Dallas Mavericks launched the Mavs Take ACTION! plan last year to address racial inequities and disparities, promote social justice and drive sustainable change in Dallas/Fort Worth.
Josey Records in Dallas will carry an exclusive Dallas Mavericks royal blue vinyl version.
