DALLAS – Tim Hardaway Jr. underwent successful surgery on Thursday to address a stress injury to his left tibia. The injury forced the Dallas Mavericks’ guard to miss the final 11 games of the season.
Hardaway will immediately start his rehabilitation process and will return to basketball activities prior to the beginning of next fall’s training camp.
The Mavs acquired Hardaway in a Jan. 31 blockbuster trade with the New York Knicks that involved seven players and two draft picks. In 19 games with the Mavs – including 17 starts – Hardaway averaged 15.5 points and 3.2 rebounds in 29.3 minutes per contest.
