The Mavs have roots in Deep Ellum, the heart of the underground arts scene in Dallas. As a tribute to both the basketball and arts communities we have created a commemorative poster series – Posterized.
Each limited-edition poster in the series has been designed by a local artist in the DFW area. Their goal was to draw inspiration from the Mavericks and our city to create an original interpretation of today’s matchup.
All proceeds from poster sales benefit the Mavs Foundation, who directly improve the lives of multiple groups and organizations across the Metroplex.

A Dallas-based freelance graphic designer/illustration. Drawing heavily from anime, manga, and videogames, Taro makes art influenced by his experiences as a multiracial American in pop and nerd culture.
Brent’s art career began as a graphic designer working in outdoor advertising, design firms, and advertising agencies including Brookshires Grocery Company in-house advertising department. In 1995, he took the big leap and started Brent Hale Illustration and Design. As a freelance illustrator and designer, Brent works with some of the best companies in the world on a wide range of projects in the fields of entertainment, advertising, editorial, and publishing as well as a growing list of clients.
Artist Joe “Skilz” is a resident muralist in the Dallas area with over 20 years of experience. His mediums consist of aerosol spray paint and acrylic paint. Influenced by past mentors and experiences, Skilz encourages others who view his designs to think outside the box and is able to mold his visions into colorful, imaginative artwork. You can see his murals scattered throughout Dallas, focusing in areas such as Deep Ellum, Arlington, and other various DFW cities.
Cole Keeton is a Dallas-based designer and co-founder of Sweet Tooth Hotel that specializing in developing ways to integrate human experience with innovative experiential design that will drive results. His extensive experience in Art/Creative Direction includes concepting and executing experiences that rest on the backbone of insight driven analytics and brand strategy. From luxury retail, beverage companies to Fortune 50 Telecom, Cole has designed for a variety of vehicles including experiential design, interactive, social, out of home, television, and film.
Jonathon Kimbrell hails from Abilene, Texas, but has lived in Dallas for the last 15 years. As a printmaker, graphic designer, and painter, Kimbrell is highly influenced by music, vintage album packaging design, typography, screen printing, and letterpress. Many of these elements find their way into his extensive body of commercial and personal work. Kimbrell holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from McMurry University and is currently working on an MFA in Visual Communication from Texas A&M University-Commerce.
Vynsie Law is the designer and co-founder of WE ARE 1976, an Asian-American family owned business established in 2008. Together with Jully Law and Derek Law, they have created a gift shop that features beautifully designed and made paper goods, art prints, stationery, and homewares – an assembly of objects that delight.
Mariell Guzman is a mixed media painter, muralist, illustrator and installation artist currently based in Dallas, Texas. She was born in Michoacán, Mexico. Her Mexican heritage has deeply influenced her relationship and interaction with art. Her personal experience with the richness of color in her culture intricately shaped the development of her creative process and her understanding of the ways colors interact with each other and how they affect the spaces we immerse ourselves in. Through a continuous intuitive interaction with materials, she develop a series of space contained yet chaotic environments that resemble anthropomorphized natural phenomena. Recently, she’s partnered up with clients such as KIA, Dickies, Skagen and Champs. Her bold and colorful murals can be found throughout DFW.
Brie Underhill is an illustrator born and raised in Texas. She graduated from the University of Dallas in 2014 with a BA in Studio Art. Discovering a love for art at an early age, she found (and continues) to find inspiration in book covers and comic strips. Brie is currently working on her first graphic novel.
Jeremy Biggers is a contemporary realism painter. A Dallas native, his paintings deal with identity and aspirations and are shaped by his experiences, which inform his view of the world. Dubbed “Dallas’ Hardest Working Multi-Hyphenate” by D Magazine, his work has been featured in a number of publications, and can be viewed all over town in the form of murals.
Tyyler Upchurch is an illustrator and graphic designer who currently works for Top of the World, a collegiate headwear and apparel company in Norman, Oklahoma. He previously worked for the University of Oklahoma football team as a graphic design intern. As a Dallas native, Tyler is a die hard Mavs fan and enjoys designing posters, mock-ups, and graphics for his favorite team. In 2018, Tyler created a t-shirt for the Dallas Mavericks and has been working with the franchise on various projects ever since.
Shamsy Roomiani is a native Texas visual artist who relishes her time spent outdoors amongst the natural world. She received a Fine Arts degree in Printmaking and a BA in Marketing from The University of North Texas. She works in various art forms such as printmaking, drawing, sculpture, and installation art. In addition to being a maker, Shamsy teaches workshops in DFW and hosts print and paper related events for companies such as the Nasher Sculpture Center, Neiman Marcus, West Elm, and NorthPark Center. She has been featured in The Dallas Morning News, The North Texan, The Star Telegram, DMagazine, and the Observer. Her fine art, stationery line, and handmade goods are sold locally and online at shamsy.co.
CLAY STINNETT lives and works in Dallas Texas. He is inspired by the quirky and less serious side of life and attempts to keep his work humorous and entertaining for the most part. A graduate of the University of North Texas (BFA), his work can be viewed at local restaurants and music venues throughout the DFW Metroplex and also exhibits in local galleries and public events, art fairs, and flea markets.
SKYLER THIOT is an award winning multi-disciplinary graphic artist living just outside of Downtown Dallas, Texas. He has designed & co-authored a children’s book with Dallas’ own Miguel Solis and ended the prohibition of caffeine on BYU’s provo campus. Skyler has been attending Mavs games since the Reunion days and his first jersey was a Jamal Mashburn in blue. His passion for design and sports has found a homein his Twitter account, 
WILL RHOTEN Dallas would look and sound a whole lot different if not for DJ Sober. The deejay, producer and illustrator has left an indelible mark on the city’s music scene over the last decade, from launching the influential soirees The Party and Big Bang! to cooking up dance tunes as one half of production duo Tommy & Linda. Along the way, he’s played Cowboys and FC Dallas games, spun for Erykah Badu and Dirk Nowitzki, and thrown pop-ups with Leon Bridges.
HANCE TAPLIN is Founder and Creative Lead of By Way of Dallas. Originally born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Hance has 15+ years of branding design and development focused in the fashion and corporate industries. Clients include (but not limited to): US Nike Football, Nike Basketball, Nike Sportswear, Nike Running, Nike Kids, The Chicago Marathon, 10 Deep NYC, The Dallas Mavericks and The Dallas Cowboys.
