OCTOBER 7, 2021 (DALLAS, TX) – The Dallas Mavericks and Therabody, the global pioneer in wellness technology, announced a multi-year partnership, naming Therabody as the Official Recovery Partner of the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavericks will integrate Therabody solutions into their training and recovery regimen, including Theragun percussive and vibration therapy, RecoveryAir pneumatic compression, and PowerDot electrical stimulation.

“Therabody is the industry leader in optimal recovery technology,” said Dallas Mavericks Governor Mark Cuban. “We’re excited to have them on our team.”

The Mavericks players and training staff will participate in education sessions with performance and wellness experts from Therabody University, the company’s educational division. Therabody’s experts will provide players with the knowledge to optimize their use of Therabody’s devices so they can improve recovery and overall performance.

“I’m excited about our partnership with Therabody,” said Head Athletic Trainer Dionne Calhoun. “Their focus on practitioner education is unique in this space. They have proven that they are committed to athlete performance and recovery.”

In basketball, the high intensity and multi-directional movements of the game can lead to large amounts of stress and fatigue in the lower body. Using a Theragun on the calves, quads, and glutes before and after games and practices can help players keep their muscles loose and accelerate recovery time to keep them playing better and longer. Similarly, the RecoveryAir pneumatic compression system can help reduce any muscle soreness and stiffness that players may experience from playing in a high volume of games during the regular season.

“The Mavericks perform at the highest level of competition, and like all of us, their bodies experience wear and tear from the intensity of their workouts and game play,” said Therabody Founder and Chief Wellness Officer Dr. Jason Wersland. “We’re proud to support them by helping to ensure that the players are able to achieve their bodies’ full potential.”

In addition to the partnership, Therabody and the Mavericks will create a digital content series to showcase how whole-body wellness can enhance whole-body performance on and off the court. The series will live on the Mavericks’ webpage and social media channels.
