About

Delon Wright (6’5″, 183 lbs) Guard from the University of Utah was the 20th overall pick by the Toronto Raptors in the 2015 NBA Draft and has averaged 7.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists, in 198 career games (18 starts) for Toronto and Memphis.

Wright played two seasons at Utah (2013-2015). In 2015 he was awarded the Bob Cousy Award, given to the nation’s top point guard while helping the Utes reach the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament. During his stellar 2015 season for the Utes, he ranked third in the Pac-12 in assists (5.1) and steals (2.1) per game, and finished 10th in scoring (14.5). He was also selected to the first-team All-Pac-12 and the All-Pac-12 Defensive Team. Wright also played two seasons at City College of San Francisco (2011-13), where he was named two-time Coast Conference Player of the Year.

Delon was traded to the Mavericks in early July through a sign and trade agreement with the Memphis Grizzlies for 2 future second round picks. At 6-5 Wright can guard multiple positions and will prove to be a major asset as the 2019-2020 gets underway, providing a backcourt defensive stopper that will defend step for step with the best guards the NBA has to offer.
