About the Mavericks: The Mavs are coming off a tough 113-106 loss at the Sacramento Kings in Monday’s opener of this three-game trip. The Mavs fell behind by as much as 18 points in the first quarter. And although the Mavs fought back and eventually took the lead, they wound up losing to the Kings for the second time in nine days. . .After tonight, the road trip concludes Thursday night in Detroit before the Mavs return home to host the Washington Wizards on Saturday. . .Luka Doncic (24 points, seven rebounds, eight assists), Tim Hardaway Jr. (19 points) and Trey Burke (19 points) led the Mavs against the Kings. Burke, who only has played in 49 games this season, said it’s tough to stay ready when he often doesn’t get to play. “But you always got to have that mentality in this league,” Burke said. “It can go for a week getting DNP’s to you playing 15-20 minutes a night. You never know, so you always got to stay ready. For me, this year it has been tough. It’s been something that I’ve kind of battled with myself. But the coaches and my teammates have done a great job of just encouraging me to be me when I’m out there, and not be nobody else.”. .The loss to the Kings snapped the Mavs’ three-game winning streak. . .The Mavs are 17-13 on the road.

About the Warriors: The Warriors have won seven out of their last nine games and enter tonight’s contest following Sunday’s 117-113 victory over the Sacramento Kings. On Feb. 4, the Warriors defeated the Mavs, 147-116, behind a career-high 40 points from Oubre, who was 14-of-21 from the field and 7-of-10 from 3-point land. Curry also scored 28 points in that game. The Mavs led, 76-74, at the half, but the Warriors outscored the Mavs in the second half, 73-40. . .On Feb. 6, Curry poured in 57 points and handed out five assists. Curry was 19-of-31 from the field and 11-of-19 from 3-point range. Also in that game, Andrew Wiggins scored 22 points and Kent Bazemore added 20 points. . .The Warriors are 19-10 at home. . .Golden State is in a close race to nab the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference. The Warriors are currently in the 10th spot, but are only half-a-game behind both the No. 8-seeded Memphis Grizzlies and the No. 9-seeded San Antonio Spurs.
