About the Mavericks: Over each NBA team’s last 10 games, no team has been hotter than the Mavs. In fact, the Mavs and the Memphis Grizzlies are the only teams that are 9-1 over the last 10 games. And the Grizzlies’ lone loss came against – you guessed it – the Mavs, last Friday in Memphis by a whopping 112-85 score. . .Reggie Bullock (right knee soreness) and Maxi Kleber (left knee soreness) are both questionable for tonight’s game. . .This is the third of a five-game home stand for the Mavs. So far, the Mavs are a perfect 2-0 on this home stand following Saturday’s 108-92 victory over the Orlando Magic and Monday’s 104-102 triumph over the Oklahoma City Thunder. The game against Orlando started a period where the Mavs are playing 12 of 15 games at home. . .This current home stand will continue with Thursday’s game against the Phoenix Suns and Sunday’s game against the Grizzlies before the Mavs start a short two-game road trip Tuesday at the Golden State Warriors. . .The Mavs are 4-3 on the front end of a back-to-back this season. . .Luka Doncic (20 points, 11 rebounds, 12 assists) recorded his 41st career triple-double in the contest against the Thunder. By contrast, the other 349 players who have played for the Mavs since their inception in 1980 have combined to register just 40 triple-doubles. That includes 21 by Jason Kidd, who is now the team’s head coach. . .Doncic also picked up three blocks and three steals against OKC. Thus, he became just the 21st player in NBA history with a 20-point triple-double that also includes three blocks and three steals. . .Following his 17-point, 10-rebound showing against OKC, Dorian Finney-Smith now has 11 career double-doubles. The Mavs are 9-2 whenever he records a double-double. . .The Mavs have led wire-to-wire in the past two games against Orlando and OKC. The last time they trailed in a game was at the 6:44 mark of the third quarter in last Friday’s outing at Memphis when they were behind the Grizzlies, 64-63.
About the Raptors: Toronto is visiting Dallas following its 104-99 loss in Miami this past Monday. The Raptors led this game, 99-96, with 1:48 remaining after a bucket by Pascal Siakam. But the Heat outscored the Raptors, 8-0, the rest of the game. . .The Raptors only played seven players in the game against Miami. Six of them played between 34-42 minutes. A seventh – Justin Champangie – played just nine minutes before he left for good with a dislocated finger. . . Tonight’s game is the fourth of a five-game road trip for the Raptors, who will wind up this journey at the Washington Wizards on Friday before they return home to entertain the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday. . .Toronto is 1-2 on this road trip. They lost at Detroit last Friday, 103-87. But the very next night they pulled off a major upset when they defeated the defending world champion Bucks in Milwaukee, 103-96. . . .Siakam collected his second career triple-double in the win over the Bucks as he finished with 30 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Also in that game, OG Anunoby (24 points, eight boards), Fred VanVleet (17 points, seven assists, three steals), Chris Boucher (15 points, seven rebounds) and Precious Achiuwa (14 points, 10 boards, three blocks) were very productive for the Raptors. . .VanVleet leads the Raptors with 21.9 ppg and 6.7 apg, Siakam averages 21 ppg, 8.4 rpg and 5.0 apg, and Anunoby is averaging 19.2 ppg and 5.0 rpg. . .Toronto put together a five-game winning streak from Oct. 27-Nov. 3 and a six-game winning streak from Dec. 31-Jan. 9. They also have three separate three-game losing streaks. . .In the Mavs’ second game this season, they went to Toronto and defeated the Raptors, 103-95, way back on Oct. 23. . .The Raptors are 9-9 on the road and 8-7 against Western Conference competition. . .Toronto is scoring at a 107 ppg clip and are allowing 106 ppg. . .The Raptors are ninth in the Eastern Conference and would be in the play-in tournament if the season ended today.
