Mavericks at Sacramento Kings

(9 p.m., Golden 1 Center, Sacramento)

TV: Bally Sports Southwest +, NBA TV

Radio: ESPN 103.3 FM (Univision 1270 AM, Spanish)

About the Mavericks (33-26): With a three-game win streak in tow, this should be the ultimate revenge games. The Mavericks have to figure out a way to make up for their 121-107 loss to the Kings last week in Dallas. In that game, the Kings came in with a nine-game losing streak, but were in charge throughout to take a stunning victory . . . This is the second of three games in 15 days against the Kings, who will come back to Dallas on May 2. In the first meeting, Jalen Brunson had 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting . . . This starts a three-game trip that will go down the road from Sacramento to Golden State on Tuesday, then across much of the country to Detroit to face the Pistons on Thursday . . . The Mavericks should have no shortage of confidence after sweeping a couple games from the Los Angeles Lakers, including a gut-check come-from-behind win on Saturday when they outscored the Lakers 29-14 in the fourth quarter . . . Their second half may have been their best defensive showing of the season. LA shot 30 percent (17 percent from 3-point land) and the Mavericks outrebounded the Lakers 28-12 . . . Dwight Powell had his best game of the season with 25 points and nine rebounds while Dorian Finney-Smith had 21 points and seven boards. The Mavericks outrebounded the Lakers 51-36 . . . Sacramento has been nice to the Mavericks of late. They won both road games against the Kings last season, although the second one came in the bubble during the restart.

About the Kings (24-35): It sounds like they may be without star guard De’Aaron Fox, who coach Luke Walton said Saturday had entered COVID-19 health and safety protocols . . . The Kings had won two of three games going into Sunday’s visit to Golden State. That run started with their upset of the Mavericks . . . The Kings remain last in the NBA in defensive rating and points allowed, but that didn’t stop them from holding the Mavericks to 107 points last week . . . In that game, Fox had 30 points, but he was ably assisted by former Maverick Harrison Barnes with 24 points and Terence Davis with 23 . . . The Kings were 22-25 and on the fringe of the play-in tournament until their nine-game losing streak, which meant their postseason chances were history . . . The bright spot has been Fox, who has averaged 25.2 points and 7.2 assists per game and is one of the fastest players end to the end, especially with the dribble . . . Barnes remains a rock for the Kings. Just as he was in his two-plus seasons with the Mavericks, he’s been one of the most reliable Kings in his tenure there. He’s averaging 16 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists and has played in all but one of the Kings’ games.
