About the Mavs: It’s the opener of a short two-game road trip. After playing the Warriors tonight, the Mavs will play in Sacramento on Wednesday before returning home to host Portland on Friday. . .The Mavs have the third-best road record in the NBA at 12-5 behind the Los Angeles Lakers (17-3) and Milwaukee Bucks (17-4). . .Power forward Kristaps Porzingis is listed as questionable for tonight’s game after going through the majority of Monday’s practice session. Porzingis, who has been dealing with soreness in his right knee and a lingering illness, hasn’t played since the Dec. 29 game at the Lakers. The Mavs are 3-4 in the seven games Porzingis missed over the past two-plus weeks. . .Center Dwight Powell is coming off his best game of the season. In Saturday’s 109-91 triumph over the Philadelphia 6ers, Powell scored 19 points on 8-of-11 shots and also grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds. . .The Mavs are 3-2 in the opener of a back-to-back. . .Overall, the Mavs are 83-78 all-time against the Warriors, including a 35-46 record on the road. . .The Mavs are 2-0 against the Warriors this season. Luka Doncic had 35 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists to lead the Mavs to a 142-94 win over the Warriors in Dallas on Nov. 20. Doncic came back with 31 points, 12 rebounds and 15 assists in a 141-121 triumph over the Warriors in San Francisco on Dec. 28.

About the Warriors: After reaching the NBA Finals the past five years, the Warriors are experiencing one of those forgettable seasons. Currently, they have the second-worst record in the NBA, just half-a-game ahead of the last-place Atlanta Hawks. . .The last time the Warriors lost at least 32 games in a season was during the 2012-’13 campaign when they were 47-35. . .The Warriors have won just six home games. The only team with fewer home wins is Atlanta with four. . .The Warriors have a plus/minus of -8.2. The only teams worse than that are Atlanta (-10.1) and Cleveland (-8.8). . .Of course, the majority of the Warriors’ woes this season are due to injuries to guards Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Curry has missed the past 37 games after fracturing his left hand during an Oct. 30 game against the Phoenix Suns. Thompson has sat out the entire season after tearing his left anterior cruciate ligament in Game 6 of last season’s NBA Finals on June 13. . .Center Kevon Looney has missed the last 10 games with left abdominal soreness. . .Guards D’Angelo Russell (23.7 ppg, 6.0 apg) and Alec Burks (15.8 ppg) lead the Warriors. Also, they’ve gotten ample support from Eric Paschall (13.6 ppg), Damion Lee (12.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg), Glenn Robinson III (12.2 ppg) and Draymond Green (8.6 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 5.6 apg).
