About the Mavs: This is a new Mavericks team, but you have to go all the way back to the championship season of 2010-11 to find a year when the Mavericks won their first three road games in a season. That year, they beat the Clippers, Nuggets and Grizzlies on the road. So far this season, they have won at New Orleans and Denver. If you were wondering, the Mavericks went 57-25 in 2010-11 . . . The Mavericks are averaging 15 turnovers per game, a number that was spiked by 23 giveaways against the Lakers on Friday, which led to 30 LA points … Luka Doncic has scored at least 25 points in four of the five games so far. He had just 12 at Denver, which arguably is their best win so far . . . They won both meetings with the Cavs last season, including a 13-point victory in Cleveland … These teams will finish their season series early as Cleveland will visit Dallas on Nov. 22.

About the Cavaliers: They have yet to lose on their home court this season, having beaten Chicago and Indiana. This will be their first game against a Western Conference opponent . . . Kevin Love has started the season with five consecutive double-doubles. And not just ordinary double-doubles. He’s had at least 16 rebounds in four of the five games and averaging 17.2 points and 16.8 rebounds per game. He’s the primary reason the Cavaliers are one of the strongest rebounding teams in the league, averaging 3.6 boards more than opponents per game. Former Texas Longhorn Tristan Thompson also averages double-figure rebounds at 11. per game . . . . Guard Matthew Dellavedova (personal reasons) and forward John Henson (hamstring) will miss the game . . . The Cavaliers are a slower-paced team by today’s standards, averaging less than 104 points per game and they are not a particularly strong 3-point shooting team . . . The Cavaliers are led in scoring by second-year guard Collin Sexton at 18.2 points per game.
