Dallas Mavericks CEO Cynt Marshall was honored to recently serve as the keynote speaker at One Hockaday: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration. Over 1,000 students took part in the event with uplifting music directed by Dr. Raymond Wise. An all-School service project followed the celebration as One Hockaday designed and painted walls for a Habitat for Humanity House.

“Thank you again for your warmth and encouragement during the (event),” wrote Tresa Wilson, Director of Inclusion and Community at The Hockaday School. “I continuously hear remnants of that day from the students, faculty/staff, and even parents. (Cynt) truly made an impact on our community.”

Marshall closed her speech by sharing a poem that she wrote about Dr. King as an 8-year-old. Below are some photos of the event, courtesy of The Hockaday School.
