Mavs Hangar Warehouse Associate

The Merchandise Warehouse Associate reports to the Warehouse Manager and is based out of the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Reports for scheduled work, is at main warehouse in a timely manner and is in complete uniform with clothing and personal appearance neat and clean.
  • Accomplishes warehouse Human Resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Meets warehouse operational standards by implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards. Also resolves problems and identifies warehouse system improvements.
  • Moves inventory to and from warehouse and coordinates inventory transfers with related departments.
  • Delivers supplies and equipment to departments by receiving and transferring items.
  • Maintains storage area by organizing floor space, adheres to storage design principles, and recommends improvements.
  • Maintains inventory by conducting daily/monthly physical counts, reconciles variances, and inputs data.
  • Utilizes Inventory System to record and track inventory flow between departments and perpetual inventories.
  • Works with Warehouse Manager on Month-End Inventory process.
  • Keeps equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, requiring preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
  • Other duties as assigned

50/50 Raffle Project Manager

The Mavs Foundation, the charitable arm of the Dallas Mavericks, is seeking a dependable, enthusiastic, highly-motivated, and hard–working individual to manage the staffing and executive of the 50/50 Raffle during the 2017-2018 Season.

Reports to: Mavs Foundation Director
Position: Seasonal Part-Time

Summary of Role:
This individual will be the driving sales and operational force behind the staffing and execution of the 50/50 Raffle benefiting the Mavs Foundation. To learn about the 50/50 Raffle, visit: www.mavs.com/5050raffle/

The ideal individual will be highly organized and sales-oriented with a competitive spirit, a leader of people, able to work effectively with executive level staffers, as well as hourly-waged workers. This individual will be responsible for all staffing of the Raffle including recruitment, training and motivation of hourly sellers; sales and promotional strategies; accounting and financial reporting; and is the liaison between the team Foundation Director and the technology vendor.

Expectations of the Project Manager:

  • Implement recruitment efforts, hiring and management of direct reports including Raffle Supervisors and Raffle Sales Representatives on behalf of the Mavs Foundation
  • All training and instruction for game night 50/50 Raffle staff, including attendance at all Dallas Mavericks home games (41-42 games)
  • Manage game night sellers and oversee all 50/50 Raffle execution, including raffle sales, tracking, winner selection and the 50/50 prize claim process
  • Execute and make improvements to all game night policies and procedures with operational objectives
  • Scheduling of nightly game night 50/50 Raffle Foundation staff
  • Staff evaluations and incentives on a nightly basis to insure best quality customer service and sales results
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the 50/50 Raffle software and hardware technology with the ability to problem solve quickly and effectively
  • Cash reconciliation and reporting responsibilities on a nightly basis
  • Establishing best practices through research with other experienced teams
  • Special projects as needed

The Project Manager for the 50/50 Raffle Implementation will ideally have the following Project Management Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, ideally with a an emphasis in sales, marketing, sports management, business or event management
  • 5 years’ experience in leading a large group of employees or volunteers in sales or event-related sports field. 50/50 Raffle experience preferred
  • Energetic with the ability to naturally manage both up and down organizational hierarchies
  • Excellent oral, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a stressful and hectic game night environment
  • Non-traditional working hours are necessary for this role while teams are in market. Flexibility with schedule is anticipated and expected while teams are playing out of town
  • Must be able to attend all home regular season and playoff games for the Dallas Mavericks during the 2017-18 season
  • A passion for sports and a comfortable knowledge of the working environment in a professional sports arena

50/50 Raffle Sales Representative – Mavs Foundation

Full/Part: Part Time, Seasonal
Reports to: 50/50 Raffle Sales Supervisor
Compensation: Hourly

Job Summary:
This position will be the driving sales force behind the 50/50 Raffle Program benefiting the Mavs Foundation. This seasonal position will start in September/October and run through the conclusion of the playoffs for the Dallas Mavericks. A similar position is available with the Dallas Stars Foundation where 50/50 staff are able to work both Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars games.
The 50/50 Raffle takes place at all home games of the Dallas Mavericks in accordance with Texas law, where one lucky winner will receive 50% of the cash pot (after allowable expenses) from that night’s event, while the Mavs Foundation will receive the other 50% to be dedicated to their ongoing charitable efforts. The ideal candidate will be a punctual, hard-working and enthusiastic salesperson with excellent communications skills. This employee will be responsible for the nightly sales of raffle tickets to help benefit the charities and programs the Mavs Foundations supports.

Responsibilities:

  • Game night selling of raffle tickets to Dallas Mavericks fans within the American Airlines Center in either a stationary kiosk location or as a roaming sales representative
  • Accepting and accounting for large sums of cash on a nightly basis
  • Communication of the 50/50 raffle rules and procedures clearly to potential customers
  • Exceptional customer service and enthusiastic promotion of the 50/50 Raffle and its impact on the Mavs Foundation.


Qualifications:

  • High school graduate (College graduate preferred)
  • Energetic personality with some level sales experience
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be able to stand and walk for long periods of time in a hectic sports arena environment
  • Non-traditional working hours are required for this position while teams are in market. Must be able to attend at least 70% of all Dallas Mavericks home games
  • Each game night commitment will be approximately 4-5 hours total, beginning 2 hours before the start of the game and concluding during the 4th quarter
  • Must represent the team exceptionally both in appearance and conduct at all times
  • A passion for sports and/or charity work with a comfortable knowledge of the working environment in a professional sports arena

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic leader of people with great communication skills, while also detail-oriented and quick on their feet for problem solving and technical issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in all training and instruction for game night sales staff
  • Scheduling and communication with nightly game night sales staff
  • Staff incentives program and evaluations on a nightly basis to insure best quality customer service and sales results
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the 50/50 Raffle software and hardware technology with the ability to problem solve quickly and effectively
  • Cash handling and tracking with oversight by 50/50 Raffle Manager
  • Oversee and enforce the consistency of Dallas Mavericks, Mavs Foundation and American Airlines center branding in all public forums

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, ideally with a an emphasis in sales, event management or sports management
  • Experience in leading a large group of employees or volunteers in sales, retail or event related sports field
  • Energetic with the ability to naturally manage both up and down organizational hierarchies
  • Excellent oral, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a stressful and hectic game night environment
  • Non-traditional working hours are required for this position while teams are in market. Traditional game night work hours would begin at 5:00 p.m. and end at the conclusion of the game typically 10:00 p.m.
  • Must be able to attend at least 75% of each home regular season and playoff game for the Dallas Mavericks during the 2017-18 season
  • A passion for sports and a comfortable knowledge of the working environment in a professional sports arena
