Director of Ticket Sales- Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks are searching for a dynamic, creative and resourceful sales leader to head-up a team of 15-20 account executives in the Mavs Ticket Sales Department.
The qualified candidate should have a minimum of 4 years of experience with a successful track record of leading a telemarketing sales team.
He/She is responsible for recruiting, hiring and developing account representatives to maximize each individual’s potential while building a healthy department culture. This candidate must have the ability to work with a wide-range of personalities as well as maintain client relationships at any income level. This position is ideal for those who like mentoring, training and leading by example and who aspire to develop a true competitive go-getter sales force.
This leadership position requires long hours in the office and at games and is suitable for those who love working with people, building and sustaining relationships and has a knack for mentoring young employees.

2017-18 Season Intern – Ticket Sales & Services

Position Overview
The Dallas Mavericks are seeking motivated, outgoing, and dedicated candidates to become an integral part of our ticket sales and service team. You will be a vital part of assisting the Mavericks ticket sales & service team in a variety of tasks – including sales support, event planning & implementation, and performing customer service initiatives.
You will be required to work up to, but not exceeding 29 hours per week – including some game nights. This is a paid internship expected to last through the end of the 2017-18 season.
This role will provide valuable hands-on experience in sales and customer service for a championship professional sports organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist sales & service staff in planning outside events for ticket holders and prospects
  • Support coordinating and implementing unique game day experiences for current and prospective clients
  • Help generate and organize new leads as requested by sales management
  • Assist sales & service department with day-to-day tasks and requests
  • Perform additional office duties and special projects as assigned

Senior Vice President Marketing and Communications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Direct all marketing and advertising initiatives, communications, broadcast, data-based entities, community relations, and game presentation for the organization
  • Play a key role in overseeing of the Dallas Mavericks brand via integrated strategies and action plans across multiple platforms including advertising, promotions, in-arena entertainment, communications/community relations and special events
  • Collaborate with corporate sales department to create season and single game ticket campaigns
  • Develop the communications strategies, creative and media plans to support ticket sales efforts
  • Collaborate with corporate sales department to create new inventory across several areas including in-arena, broadcast, social-media, digital, publications, retail programs, community relations, consumer market segments and special events
  • Enhance current marketing programs by improving quality and adding sponsor activation & dollars to them
  • Responsible for collecting information from all touch points allowing the organization to directly market to these fans and drive incremental revenue
  • Oversee the roles of basketball communications and player relations to provide continued access of players/coaches to the media and fan base thus strengthening the connections between the team and the community
  • Collaborate with the IT Department on the direction and content for all web and social media presence
  • Responsible for all aspects of creating first —class “Game Day” entertainment presentation inside and outside the arena
  • Oversee the calling of the game presentation and supervise all aspects of audio visual facilities and part time staff
  • Oversee all creative development of projects from conceptualization and writing to final output
  • Develop and execute all in-arena game activities including, but not limited to all on-court entertainment and scoreboard video features (mascots, emcees, drumline, street team, DJ, face painters, balloon artists and more)
  • Direct all advertising and collateral/creative; radio, TV, out-of-home, e-mail, social, web, major daily and local print, collateral design, e-brochures, and premium items
  • Oversee the community basketball camp program which has over 5,000 combined kids/parents and adults attending 50 different programs


  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four year university or college, Master’s degree desirable
  • Eight plus years experience in a related industry with a minimum of six years of supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the practices and terminology of advertising, marketing, public relations programs
  • Experience working with media partners, technology and creative partners
  • Ability to lead and manage large group of individuals

Service and Retention Executive

Position Overview:
This position is responsible for the servicing and retention of an existing season ticket account base and generating new business revenue from existing and new accounts through the sale of season tickets, partial plans, group tickets and premium inventory. Position will be focused on maintaining and increasing the overall season ticket renewal percentage of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meeting or exceeding aggressive daily call volume goals
  • Developing beneficial relationships with current and new accounts in order to provide a positive experience and generate repeat business
  • Achieving or exceeding yearly renewal and sales goals
  • Attending sales and service related team and community functions to generate and maximize prospective sales opportunities
  • Consistent and disciplined approach to reach frequent touchpoint goals for assigned accounts
  • Travel may be required to visit clients throughout Dallas and surrounding areas
  • Maintaining accurate records of all clients and new prospects with our CRM system
  • Working during all home games to provide customer service to season ticket holders
  • Performing other duties as assigned by management
  • Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Sports Management, Business, Marketing or related field
  • 2 or more years of proven customer service and/or sales experience or currently in a full-time sales or service position within a sports organization

    Mavs Hangar Warehouse Associate

    The Merchandise Warehouse Associate reports to the Warehouse Manager and is based out of the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Reports for scheduled work, is at main warehouse in a timely manner and is in complete uniform with clothing and personal appearance neat and clean.
    • Accomplishes warehouse Human Resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and adhering to policies and procedures.
    • Meets warehouse operational standards by implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards. Also resolves problems and identifies warehouse system improvements.
    • Moves inventory to and from warehouse and coordinates inventory transfers with related departments.
    • Delivers supplies and equipment to departments by receiving and transferring items.
    • Maintains storage area by organizing floor space, adheres to storage design principles, and recommends improvements.
    • Maintains inventory by conducting daily/monthly physical counts, reconciles variances, and inputs data.
    • Utilizes Inventory System to record and track inventory flow between departments and perpetual inventories.
    • Works with Warehouse Manager on Month-End Inventory process.
    • Keeps equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, requiring preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.

    50/50 Raffle Sales Representative – Mavs Foundation

    Full/Part: Part Time, Seasonal
    Reports to: 50/50 Raffle Sales Supervisor
    Compensation: Hourly

    Job Summary:
    This position will be the driving sales force behind the 50/50 Raffle Program benefiting the Mavs Foundation. This seasonal position will start in September/October and run through the conclusion of the playoffs for the Dallas Mavericks. A similar position is available with the Dallas Stars Foundation where 50/50 staff are able to work both Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars games.
    The 50/50 Raffle takes place at all home games of the Dallas Mavericks in accordance with Texas law, where one lucky winner will receive 50% of the cash pot (after allowable expenses) from that night’s event, while the Mavs Foundation will receive the other 50% to be dedicated to their ongoing charitable efforts.     The ideal candidate will be a punctual, hard-working and enthusiastic salesperson with excellent communications skills. This employee will be responsible for the nightly sales of raffle tickets to help benefit the charities and programs the Mavs Foundations supports.


    • Game night selling of raffle tickets to Dallas Mavericks fans within the American Airlines Center in either a stationary kiosk location or as a roaming sales representative
    • Accepting and accounting for large sums of cash on a nightly basis

    • Non-traditional working hours are required for this position while teams are in market. Must be able to attend at least 70% of all Dallas Mavericks home games
    • Each game night commitment will be approximately 4-5 hours total, beginning 2 hours before the start of the game and concluding during the 4th quarter
    • Must represent the team exceptionally both in appearance and conduct at all times

    Job Summary

    • Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the 50/50 Raffle software and hardware technology with the ability to problem solve quickly and effectively
    • Cash handling and tracking with oversight by 50/50 Raffle Manager
