Mark Cuban and the Dallas Mavericks are the latest supporters of DoorDash’s #OpenForDelivery initiative to create awareness to support local restaurants and small businesses

MARCH 26, 2020 (DALLAS, TX) – The Dallas Mavericks have partnered with DoorDash, the nation’s leading on-demand local logistics platform to support local restaurants. Mark Cuban and the Mavs are the latest supporters of DoorDash’s #OpenForDelivery initiative, aimed to let people know restaurants are open, delivery is safe and restaurants need customers more than ever. #OpenForDelivery is a multi-platform campaign that includes TV spots, social media and the launch of a new website: openfordelivery.com.

The #OpenForDelivery initiative is a call to support stressed local restaurants and highlight the critical role they play in our lives and communities.

“DoorDash is not only assuring people are staying employed, but they’re also keeping local restaurants open for business through delivery,” says Mark Cuban. “#OpenForDelivery has a new purpose and our goal is to let communities know how food delivery can help save jobs and local businesses. We’ll need as many partnerships like this as we can get so we can do our part to help those that need it the most.”

“We are deeply grateful to Mark Cuban and the Dallas Mavericks for their support of DoorDash’s global #OpenForDelivery initiative,” said Tony Xu, DoorDash CEO and cofounder. “Restaurants are the backbone of our communities, and we all need to come together and support them in these challenging times.”

The Dallas Mavericks are participating in the #OpenForDelivery initiative by helping drive the conversation to highlight local restaurants who are #OpenForDelivery with #MavsSupportLocal.

DoorDash is also donating $150,000 to the Mavs Foundation to amplify its efforts in assisting youth, women and families in need and those affected by COVID-19.

“People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. Partnerships such as this demonstrate there are organizations like DoorDash that care,” says Dallas Mavericks CEO Cynt Marshall. “Our goal through this campaign is to further the mission to meet the immediate needs of our community.”

The public can spread awareness by following DoorDash on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, by sharing their own #OpenForDelivery stories. To search DoorDash for local favorites or to discover your next go-to, visit doordash.com or download DoorDash for Android or iOS.
