DALLAS – Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki was named Western Conference Player of the Week for games played from Monday, March 31, through Sunday, April 6, the NBA announced today. This is the 17th time Nowitzki has garnered the honor in his career.

Nowitzki led the Mavericks to a 3-1 week with wins over the L.A. Clippers, the L.A. Lakers and Sacramento. He averaged 25.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.0 steal and 35.5 minutes per game during that stretch while shooting 55.7 percent (39-of-70) from the field and 56.5 percent (13-of-23) from three-point range.

Nowitzki scored 25-plus points in three of Dallas’ four games during the week. He tallied 26 points (10-18 FGs, 4-7 3FGs, 2-2 FTs), 11 rebounds and two steals in Dallas’ 113-107 win over the L.A. Clippers on April 3.

On the season, Nowitzki ranks 13th in the NBA in scoring (21.6 ppg). He is shooting 49.2 percent from the field, 39.5 percent from three-point range and 90.1 percent from the line.
