David Herr

David served as the Chief Technology Officer of the Dallas Mavericks and was a shining light in this world. If you’ve been to American Airlines Center or followed the Mavs on digital platforms – chances are you’ve seen David’s work along the way. He was innovative, creative and deeply passionate about his craft. He didn’t view his career as just a job – it was a calling. This past year was some of David’s finest work with the Dallas Mavs as he constantly found ways to keep us connected and operating as we worked virtually. His desire to step up to the challenge and lead with grace and kindness made him special and he was one of the very best in the industry.

Most of all, David was a dear friend. He touched all of our lives with the Dallas Mavs in countless ways and we are better people because of him. He always treated people with great respect, equality, kindness and humility. He was a leader and especially valued our safety and protection. David’s friendship and memories will always be with us. He certainly made an impact on this world and his memory will always live on.

Our hearts go out to his wife, Michelle, and his entire family.

We love you and will miss you, David.
