Letter from Cynt Marshall
Dallas Mavericks CEO
Dear MFFL Family,
As we move forward in this new COVID-19 era, the Dallas Mavericks are constantly retooling and figuring out ways to foster the greatest impacts on our community. Even as I write these words, the coronavirus pandemic continues to inflict health and economic tolls on our local community, and it is impossible to predict what tomorrow will bring. Nonetheless, even during times of uncertainty, we are committed to bringing unity, support, and sustainable change to the great people of North Texas.
Our love for the people and the commUNITY is embedded in our DNA. That will never change.
As CEO of the Dallas Mavericks, I’ve had the unique experience of leading our organization through multiple crises. Innovation and versatility were required to navigate an ever-changing landscape. From the COVID-19 pandemic to social injustice to the winter storm that rocked North Texas — all of these challenges provided us with exceptional opportunities to address health care needs, food insecurity, education equity, and many more. We were delighted to join all of you in answering the call to serve and make a difference for so many lives in our community.
Today, more than ever, at the Dallas Mavericks, we have a renewed aspiration to assist children, women, and families in need.
In the following pages, we have highlighted a few of our beloved community events and outreach efforts in the past season. We saw firsthand how innovation, hard-work, and servant leadership can make a difference. Thank you for helping us help Dallas rebound. YOU are a major part of our story. We simply could not have done this work without your support.
The Mavs Foundation will celebrate its 25th year this upcoming season. Back in 1996, a small group of men and women had a vision to take action and create an organization that would reach North Texans in both small and mighty ways. Today, the Mavs Foundation has blossomed into a powerful network of people and partnerships, and we are forever grateful to every person who helps bring our vision to life.
Our hope and mission in the coming year are to once again use the game of basketball to build bridges and unite people for a common good. I am optimistic that with your invaluable support, we will achieve even more triumphs and touch countless lives.
Thank you for being a huge part of our story and for being ALL IN with us as we serve our community.
