This holiday season, the Dallas Mavericks and Wesley Matthews hosted the Mavs Winter Warm-Up Drive to help those in need here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
In partnership with Raising Cane’s, Bedgear and Fox Sports Southwest, the Dallas Mavericks and Wesley Matthews challenged fans to donate new and gently used coats, blankets and other winter items for families in need with the Winter Warm-Up Drive.
As part of the Season of Giving, the Winter Warm-Up Drive took place between December 1 – 22, 2017. Fans were invited to bring their items to any DFW Metroplex Raising Cane’s locations. Donors who brought an item to a Raising Cane’s received a free 22 oz. drink.
Donated items included: new or gently used coats, blankets, hats, scarves, warm weather clothing and NEW socks.
In addition to the collection, Bedgear, the first performance bedding company, donated over $100,000 worth of pillows and blankets to the shelter.
In January, Wesley Matthews, Mavs Dancers, ManiAACs and volunteers from the Dallas Mavericks, Raising Cane’s and Bedgear helped deliver the items to Dallas LIFE, a homeless shelter providing food, shelter, clothing, education and recovery programs for individuals to find a path out of homelessness. After unloading the bus, Wesley and volunteers made a special visit inside to help serve dinner to Dallas LIFE residents.
Thank you to Wes, Raising Cane’s, Bedgear, FOX Sports Southwest and all MFFLs who donated!
