2017 Hoops For Troops

Thursday, November 9th, the Dallas Mavericks staff joined with Dallas Mavericks, Dennis Smith Jr. and Dorian Finney-Smith, dancers, ManiAACs, and Caliber Home Loans to host a “Commitment to Service” volunteerism event.

During the NBA’s Hoops for Troops week (November 7th- November 15th) through Commitment to Service, the NBA family work side-by-side with military to better communities across the US. On Thursday, November 9th, the Dallas Mavericks staff joined with Dallas Mavericks, Dennis Smith Jr. and Dorian Finney-Smith, dancers, ManiAACs, and Caliber Home Loans to host a “Commitment to Service” volunteerism event, working alongside military members from the 301st Fighter Wing Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth.

Volunteers worked to pack 10,000-plus healthy meals for hungry families in Dallas, through Feeding Children Everywhere. Feeding Children Everywhere is committed to helping create self-sufficient and sustainable communities through their program areas, such as areas in need throughout Dallas. The 10,000 Meals were shipped directly to the North Texas Food Bank, that night.

Saturday, November 11th the Dallas Mavericks will face the Cleveland Cavaliers during the Dallas Mavericks Hoops for Troops game. Throughout the night, military members and veterans will be recognized, honored, and saluted for their service.
