Basketball Court

Each season, the Mavs foundation selects local nonprofits or community organizations in need of new basketball courts for recreational and community purposes. This is an in-kind project to refurbish or replace an exisisting court or gym in need of repair, in order to encourage healthly living and provide a safe place for children and residents in the community. All of the work of the Dallas Mavericks Foundation court projects is completed by Mavs Foundation staff and its partners.

Over the last 24 years, the Mavs Foundation has built 27 basketball courts throughout the North Texas community.

Announcing New Courts Selected for 2019-20 Refurbishment:

Dallas County Juvenile Justice Department

Originally established in 1950 to address the needs of Dallas County delinquent youth, the Dallas County Juvenile Department serves as a national leader in juvenile justice reform. The young men at Dallas County Youth Village are there to learn positive behavior practices and to become productive citizens of society. Funding from the Mavs Foundation will help to refurbish our basketball court.

Family Gateway

Family Gateway offers the only emergency shelter in Dallas that will serve a family of any kind and keep them together. Most shelters serve individuals. We serve single parent households, along with married/unmarried families with children, multigenerational families and same gender families with children. Funding from the Mavs Foundation will help to refurbish the outside basketball court and playground.
