Catch Dirk Nowitzki, Salah Mejri, and some of the NBA’s biggest stars Saturday in NBA Africa Game 2017

Dirk Nowitzki and Salah Mejri are teammates, but for one day they’ll do battle against each other.

The German legend has been in Johannesburg, South Africa, the last few days with the first Tunisian-born player in NBA history and some of the NBA’s biggest stars ahead of NBA Africa Game 2017, an exhibition contest played in support of UNICEF, the Nelson Mandela Foundation and SOS Children’s Villages South Africa. They’ve also participated in a Basketball Without Borders camp, which includes working clinics with kids, building homes, and a host of other public and private activities.

The game airs tomorrow at 10 a.m. Central Time and can be seen on ESPN 2 in America, and will air live in sub-Saharan Africa on Kwesé’s TV, Internet and mobile platforms, including Kwesé Free Sports, Kwesé Sports, select free-to-air channels, Kwesesports.com, and the Kwesé app.

Nowitzki will co-captain his Team World side with the Charlotte Hornets’ Kemba Walker. They will be joined by Leandro Barbosa (most recently with the Phoenix Suns; Brazil), Jaylen Brown (Boston Celtics; US), Wilson Chandler (Nuggets; US), DeMarcus Cousins (New Orleans Pelicans; US), Andre Drummond (Detroit Pistons; US), Courtney Lee (New York Knicks; US), Kyle Lowry (Raptors; US), CJ McCollum (Portland Trail Blazers; US) and Kristaps Porzingis (Knicks; Latvia).

Mejri’s Team Africa squad will be captained by the Lakers’ Luol Deng and Thabo Sefolosha. Joining the 7-foot-2 center will be Bismack Biyombo (Orlando Magic; Democratic Republic of Congo), Clint Capela (Houston Rockets; Switzerland; parents from Angola and Congo), Gorgui Dieng (Minnesota Timberwolves; Senegal), Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76ers; Cameroon), Serge Ibaka (Toronto Raptors; Congo), Luc Mbah a Moute (most recently with the LA Clippers; Cameroon), Emmanuel Mudiay (Denver Nuggets; DRC), Victor Oladipo (Indiana Pacers; US.; Nigerian parent) and Dennis Schroder (Atlanta Hawks; Germany; Gambian parent).
