Mark Followill – Mavs Television Play-by-Play

Mark FollowillMark Followill enters his 16th season as part of Dallas Mavericks
broadcasts. This will be his 10th season as play-by-play voice of the Mavs
television broadcasts on Fox Sports Southwest and TXA21. Prior to
television, Followill served as the Mavs play-by-play announcer for radio
broadcasts on ESPN 103.3 FM for four seasons from 2001 to 2005. Followill
also spent two years prior on 570 KLIF as the studio host of Mavericks
radio broadcasts and play-by-play announcer on select broadcasts.

In addition to his work with the Mavericks, Followill has served for three
seasons as the television voice of Major League Soccer franchise FC Dallas
and is a play-by-play announcer for national college football telecasts on
Fox Sports Networks. Followill has also recently been a play-by-play
announcer on college basketball telecasts on CBS Sports Network and The
Longhorn Network, NFL and NCAA football broadcasts on Sports USA Radio
Network and NBA and WNBA games on ESPN Radio. Followill has also been a
longtime contributor to popular Dallas radio station KTCK, Sports Radio
1310 The Ticket.

In his time as a play-by-play announcer with the Mavs, the team’s
television broadcasts have been recognized for multiple Lone Star Emmys
for Best Live Sporting Event. While on radio broadcasts, Followill
received Texas Associated Press Broadcasters Awards and a Katie Award for
best play-by-play in Texas.

Followill, born in Dallas, attended the University of North Texas in
Denton from 1989-1992 where he worked at campus radio station KNTU.
